Not a bad way to start the year…

Friday, June 22nd, 2012

First clutch is finished hatching!  Ended up with 0.1 black pastel yellowbelly, 1.0 black pastel, 1.2 yellowbellies, and 2.0 normals.  Not too shabby, and I've got my first holdback for the year!

And as usual, our girl Ashe is the one laying it!  Hoping for some black pastel yellowbellies out of these seven pearly whites!  Check out the clutch info here.

Just dinkin’ around…

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

First clutch is out!  Nothing super exciting, just a dinker clutch that may or may not be something...  We picked this girl up as a wild caught adult back when we first got into ball pythons and two of the hatchlings from her first clutch with us back in 2008 had something different about them.  I've never really successfully captured their look in a picture, but they were just cleaner and brighter looking than the others.  One of those hatchlings was a male and he was bred back to her for this clutch.  Is there something going on here?  I'm really not sure, but they are some interesting hatchlings regardless.  Next year I'll be putting our black pastel yellow belly male with her to see what happens when yellow belly gets thrown in with her genes.

This little guy died in the egg before he started absorbing any yolk, and he's probably the most normal looking of the clutch.
