2010 Enchi Male 01
Monday, August 9th, 2010Good luck with the bad…
Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010Clutch 3 is out! Final tally is 1.0 kingpin, 2.0 pinstripes, 2.2 enchis, and 1.0 normal. Gotta say I'm pretty happy with the outcome!
Now for the bad luck. Our spider female laid her clutch last night, and it ended up being mostly slugs. Two good eggs and nine slugs. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for a lesser bee or stinger bee out of one of those eggs!

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010What’s yellow, white, and eggs all over?
Tuesday, July 20th, 2010Albino eggs! Really hoping to get some albino spiders out of this clutch, but could also end up with some enchi het albinos. Can't say that would be a bad consolation prize! This is clutch number nine.

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010Clutch number 8 is in the bag…
Monday, July 19th, 2010Our hypo laid 6 eggs today. She was bred to a pastel possible het. hypo at the beginning of the season, and then to our enchi for the last bit of the season. Gotta say, I'm hoping for a male enchi het. hypo out of this clutch. You can see the details here.

Possible goodness…
Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010Clutch number six is cooking! Here's hoping for some enchi's out of this het hypo girl.

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010Not a bad first clutch…
Tuesday, June 1st, 2010Our pinstripe laid her eggs last night, and totally surprised us with an extra egg. I had counted seven eggs when I palpated her after ovulation. Not a bad first clutch at all, especially for a two year old. This is our third clutch for the year, and we should be getting a clutch a week for the rest of June.

Monday, May 31st, 2010Het. Hypo ovulation…
Sunday, May 23rd, 2010It's girls like this that almost make hypo's seem co-dom! Wasn't sure originally if I was catching the tail end of an ovulation or if she was just building, but she went into shed a few days ago -- almost exactly 2 weeks to the day. At the moment I'm considering her cooked, I can't for the life of me get a good palpation on her. Soon as I get near where the follicles/eggs would be she tenses right up solid. It's like trying to palpate a piece of pvc pipe!
Who doesn’t like eggs on a Sunday morning?
Sunday, May 9th, 2010Got our second clutch of eggs for the year this morning! I decided to give the straight vermiculite incubation method a shot on this clutch to see if I like it better than using the suspended method.
No news on the first clutch just yet, although they should be pipping anytime now. We've had a few more ovulations and a pre-lay shed or two, but other than that it's been pretty quiet around here.

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010Little bit more enchi lovin’
Wednesday, February 10th, 2010
Just a little.
This is the only girl that actually went for us last year. Not only did she give us all girls, but all three of them were quite different looking. The pastel for obvious reasons, but also the two normals from that clutch were a bright orange and a very light yellow. As soon as I figure out where the light tent ran off to I plan on getting some updated pictures of all three of those girls. It'll be interesting to see if that orange comes out in an enchi.

Friday, January 8th, 2010Downtime, black platinum, and hypo enchi!
Saturday, October 24th, 2009Sorry about the downtime to anyone who tried to access the page the past couple of days. The server that was hosting our site went down and then there were a few hiccups getting it moved over to a new server. Everything should be working fine now, but if you come across something acting odd let me know! To make up for it, here's another lock we had earlier this week. I'm not sure if this girl will go or not as she's only a year old, but she's up to size so I figured I'd give it a shot. Sure enough, they locked up. Cross your fingers for black platinums!
Also, just thought I would mention that the hypo enchi HAS been produced. The Bells from Reptile Industries had one for sale at Daytona this year, but unfortunately no good pictures of it surfaced. SES Reptiles, whom I believe are located in Sweden, also produced one.
It shall rain enchi’s!
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009At least I hope anyway.
Chalk another one up for our enchi boy, this time with a heterozygous hypo. Hopefully we'll end up with lots of female enchi possible het. hypo's from this pairing. I think this combination of genes is going to be smoking hot! I would expect that someone will produce one this coming season now that the enchi pied has been produced.
